If you’re anything like me, you probably own a smartphone and take it with you just about everywhere that you go. Because of their functionality, our mobile phones have quickly become a part of our everyday lives.

What causes our mobile devices to truly feel uniquely “ours” are the mobile apps that we choose to download to them. Whether you have an Android mobile phone or an iPhone (I’m an Apple junkie myself), there are literally thousands of apps to help improve your personal and professional life.

Below are 8 of my top mobile app recommendations chosen to help you maximize even more of your mobile phone’s potential.

1. Postagram—Postagram is a free app that transforms your photos into beautiful postcards deliverable by mail anywhere in the U.S. for only $0.99. International postcards are delivered by mail for only $1.99 (price includes postage). Whether you are thanking a hard working volunteer for a job well done, or just simply sending love to a family/small group member, there are countless ways to use this app to show someone that you care! It is available on both iPhone and Android devices.
2. Pocket—Ever run across an interesting article, website, or video that looks promising but you don’t have the time to check it out right then? Pocket is a great way for you to save your content and view it later. Everything you save can even be viewed later without an internet connection. This free app is available on both iPhone and Android devices.
3. Yahoo! Weather—Winner of the 2013 Apple Design Award, this free app turns boring weather forecasts into beautiful and informative designs. One unique feature is Yahoo’s use of stunning location photos that change with the weather conditions. It is available on both iPhone and Android devices.
4. WordSwag—WordSwag helps you take ordinary photos and/or text and add “swag” to them. The result is a beautiful graphic/photo you can use on your blog, Instagram, Facebook, or wherever you share content. This app is literally like having a graphic designer in your back pocket. And it’s cheaper than one too! For a download price of only $1.99, you can begin creating your own custom design images that are sure to impress! It is currently only available on iPhone devices.
5. Asana—Asana is a great way for your team to assign and track tasks on the go. Add due dates, prioritize responsibilities—there are a number of features that will help you and your team collaborate and stay on top of your next project. The app is free up to your first 15 teammates and is available on both iPhone and Android devices.
6. Rdio—Pandora and iTunes Radio each have their strengths as well as their drawbacks. Music lovers, however, will really appreciate the functionality of Rdio. With over 20 million tracks to listen to, Rdio allows you to organize your music into collections and even customize your own stations by genre, artist, etc. Rdio also allows you to listen to an ENTIRE artist’s music album uninterrupted (a feature that sets it apart from Pandora and iTunes Radio). The app offers a free two week trial for new users after which the cost is $14.99 per month (US only). For what you would normally pay for one CD at a retail store, this app is well worth the cost and then some! It is available for use on iPhone, Android, Windows, and Blackberry devices.
7. Buffer—Buffer enables you to easily and effortlessly schedule your social media posts throughout the day. Just simply tell Buffer what you want to share and it schedules your posts at time intervals that you determine. It’s a great way to stay connected with your followers while also freeing you up to do other things with your time. This time-saving app is free and is available on both iPhone and Android devices.
8. Faith Chapel—Last but certainly not least is the Faith Chapel app. This free app allows you to enjoy practical audio and video content from one of the best Bible teachers on the planet, Dr. Michael D. Moore. Here you will find opportunities to learn more about this local church, view live streams of Faith Chapel’s worship services, submit requests for personal prayer, and even order ministry products. Occasionally, you may also find a sermon or two on this app from yours truly! This app is free and is available on both iPhone and Android devices.
