17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” – 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 (NIV)
One of Facebook’s most commonly used features is the “STATUS” feature.
Through this unique feature, Facebook provides us with a simple tool to share the status of our lives and experiences with all of our friends and family at once.
Through just a few short sentences, we’re able to capture how we feel or what we’re doing about any given thing at any given moment.
I believe that as it is with Facebook, so it is with us.
Each and every one of us has a mental “status” button that we control on a daily basis.
Every single day, we wake up and go about our lives facing various circumstances and experiences…
Some of them positive.
What eventually separates those who simply survive their life’s circumstances and those who come out of them on top is perspective.
Here in 2 Corinthians 4, Paul tells us that no matter what negative situations or circumstances we face in life, it’s important that we remember that they’re only temporary.
In other words, Paul is stating here that the STATUS of any negative circumstance in your life is subject to change!
That’s a great promise for you to claim!!
It means that whenever you feel like you’re down and out for the count…your current status is subject to change!
It means that if you ever feel like quitting and you aren’t really sure if you can continue to go on…just remember that the status of what you’re currently facing is only temporary!
Every circumstance, trial, or test that you’re up against that’s contrary to God’s Word HAS to change because God’s Word never returns to Him void.
God’s Word is forever settled in Heaven.
It’s true and it’s eternal!
As you go about your day, you either going to allow your current circumstances to dictate the current or future status of your perspective on life…
Or you going to trust and believe in what God has said about you in His Word.
Either way, the good news is this…
The final choice is ultimately yours!!
So, I ask you…
What’s Your Status??
